       Tangra was established in 1993 to preserve the Bulgarian food making traditions spanning more than one thousand years of experience. We are based in the Rhodope Mountains and the Valley of Thrace, in the southern part of Bulgaria. After the fall of communism, the Stratev family organized several villages in a co-operative. Located in one of the most ecologically clean areas of the Balkan Peninsula, the Stratev co-operative focuses on the preparation of natural milk products with world-famous nutritional values, such as TANGRA Creamy Sheep’s Milk Feta, TANGRA Bulgarian Kashkaval, TANGRA Premium Bulgarian Yogurt with live cultures of Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, TANGRA Yogurt Powder, TANGRA Bulgarian Cream Cheese, TANGRA Milk Powders and TANGRA Milk Shake Powders. Our organization uses the high quality rich sheep’s and cow’s milk of the Rhodope Mountains where the animals range freely on thriving green pastures. We carefully select the members of our co-operative and require them to abide by our guiding principles. 

The dairy team is built of some of the best cheese and yogurt masters in Bulgaria, as well as experienced production and sales managers. There is a strict 24-hour control over food development, starting from the collection of the raw milk, its delivery to the dairy, all its laboratory tests, processing, packing, storage, and preparation for domestic sales and export.  

Tangra Group was established as a U.S. Promotional Office in 2000. It is the first effort, of its kind, to educate American customers about the health and culinary benefits of Bulgarian natural foods. We understand the importance of regular communication with our clients and customers, and we welcome their continuous feedback.
